“Life and Death (is one and the same)” is an artwork that encapsulates the cyclical nature of existence by depicting new growth emerging from a decaying log. The log, which lies horizontally across the scene, has surrendered to the natural process of decay, yet it serves as a nurturing ground from which new life sprouts—vibrant leaves reach out towards the sky, symbolizing the perseverance and continuity of life.

The delicate leaves and twigs sprout from the log are drawn with fine detail, highlighting the beauty and fragility of new life. Amongst these, insects crawl and perch, each playing their role in the ecosystem, contributing to decomposition and regeneration.
